I took my first yoga lesson nearly 30 years ago at the community center in Seattle’s U-District.
Now I teach fun, accessible classes designed to help students feel more ease in their bodies and brains. Initially interested in learning to put my feet behind my head, I have grown to value yoga for the opportunity to practice deep attentiveness and non-judgment.
I have studied with Baxter Bell, Ashley Sharp, Vickie Russell Bell, Domonick Wegesin, Lisa Siniard, Dennis & Kathy Lang, and Abbey Brewer. I am a RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance and have completed 200 hour teacher trainings at two studios: in 2016 at Namaste Yoga in Berkeley, California, and again in 2023 at Etowah Valley Yoga in Cartersville, Georgia. I also have 20 hour certificates in Yoga Nidra, Yin, and prenatal yoga.
No matter your starting point, as my student you’ll find space to cultivate kindness, attentiveness, strength, and flexibility.
Every week I teach:
- Warm Yin at 8:45 am on Fridays
Every other week I teach:
- Warm, Slow Flow at 10 am on Mondays
Once a month I teach:
- Level I / II at Noon on Wednesdays
- Warm, Gentle Yoga at Noon on Fridays
I have experience leading the following workshops:
- 2 Hour Yin & Yoga Nidra
- Shoulderstand & Plow
I’m available for private lessons or to teach at your workplace, online or in-person if you’re in Metro Atlanta/Northwest Georgia. Please get in touch with me at emilyweak AT gmail
